Joe Clark (Morgan Freeman)

adalah seorang guru kulit hitam yang sangat berdedikasi di Eastside High School, Paterson, New Jersey. Namun tanpa alasan yang jelas dewan sekolah memecatnya. 20 tahun kemudian sekolah yang dulunya merupakan sekolah swasta bergengsi itu berubah menjadi sebuah sekolah yang terbengkalai, kotor, kumuh dan berada di peringkat terbawah dalam peringkat sekolah terbaik. Alih-alih melakukan aktivitas belajar, para muridnya yang terdiri dari berbagai macam ras itu malah sibuk dengan urusan mereka -masing dan tidak sedikit yang terjebak dalam dunia narkoba dan kriminal, bahkan beberapa murid pun tidak sengan-segan melawan para guru dengan kekerasan.

Eastside High School

Dikarenakan situasi belajar mengajar yang tidak kondusif itu membuat nilai rata-rata pendidikan dasar di Eastside High School pun tidak mencapai target yang ditentukan dimana sesuai dengan peraturan pemerintah bahwa 75% dari muridnya harus lulus dalam ujian dasar. Kenyataannya hanya 35% murid yang mampu lulus dan hal itu membuat dewan sekolah gusar karena jika dalam waktu 110 hari lagi jika para murid2nya masih tidak mampu mencapai target yang ditentukan maka Eastside High School akan diambil alih oleh pemerintah. Dan melalui sebuah rapat dewan sekolah akhirnya diputuskan bahwa mereka akan memanggil kembali Joe Clark untuk menjadi kepala sekolah di Eastside High School.

Memiliki keinginan untuk berubah

Awalnya tentu saja susah untuk membujuk Joe yang sudah terlanjur sakit hati karena pemecatannya 20 tahun yang lalu, namun karena bujukan dari sahabatnya yang juga anggota dewan sekolah, Frank Napier (Robert Guillaume) dan rasa pedulinya dengan para murid sekolah tersebut maka akhirnya Joe menerima tawaran tersebut. Sebagai langkah awal Joe dengan tegas mengeluarkan setiap murid yang terlibat narkoba maupun tindakan kriminal, memecat guru-guru yang tidak menyukai caranya memimpin, dan mengadakan pertemuan dengan para wali murid untuk menjelaskan keiginannya merubah sekolah itu.

Great addition to add my husbands taste to Christmas

My husband LOVES this movie (but really doesn't like Christmas foo foo stuff too much) so this was nice, seeing it's something he can add to our tree and be happy with. The ornaments are pretty heavy, and the Nightmare "wreaths" that hang off of the heads hang down more than I'd like.

Got these ornaments as a gift for a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan. Ornaments are exactly what I expect. A little on the larger side, but definitely put a smile on the recipients face.

I was real excited to get this action figure because I wanted to display him with my other christmas decorations. But as soon as I took him out of the package and attempted to move his leg, it broke right off. I am not very happy about it. This toy is not very will made. VERY fragile. Just be careful when handling it!

My daughter is obsessed with the movie and all she wanted for her fourth birthday was all things Sally and Jack. When she saw the inflatable Sally the excitement was priceless! It's small enough that she can carry it around and sleep with it too. It's durable and has great Sally like features. If you or someone you know loves MBC this is a must have!!!!
